Message of the Vice-Chancellor

I am extremely happy to launch the updated website of UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Since its inception, the Human Resource Development Centre has been performing exceptionally well as one of the premier institutions of this kind in India because of its distinct national character, work culture, dynamic approach and innovative teaching techniques. UGC– Human Resource Development Centre was established in 1989 as part of UGC’s attempt to re-orient and training of teachers engaged in higher education. I am happy to proclaim that this Centre has earned a name for itself in the country and till date more than 17000 teachers all over the country have participated in 527 courses (offline & online) organized by the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.

The Human Resource Development Centre is enriched with a splendid array of infrastructural facilities, including latest modern electronic equipment’s, well-furnished conference halls, enriched Library with good books, Journals, Magazines & daily newspapers, INFLIBNET and EDUSAT network connectivity.

To make the stay of the trainees comfortable, the construction of a hostel for trainees is completed and its furnishing is in progress.

I appreciate the efforts of Prof. D. D. Sharma, Director, Human Resource Development Centre and his team for imparting quality training in this Centre dedicated to professional development of college and University teachers. I sincerely hope that the information placed on the website will cater to the academic requirements of the aspirants, who are keen to attend the programmes at the Human Resource Development Centre, Shimla.
